2015 Big Red Marching Band: Star-Cross’d

This year’s show is entitled Star-Cross’d. Two households, both alike in dignity, across the cosmos, where we lay our scene. Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean, a pair of star-cross’d lovers come to light.

We tell their story through the timeless suite The Planets by Gustav Holst. Through our uninterrupted performance you will hear themes representing every planet, from the flowing vocal melody of Neptune to the combative percussion of Mercury. As the show progresses, observe the forbidden adulation between the two performers representing the majestic beauty of Jupiter and the devoted soldier of Mars. The which if you with patient ears attend, what here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.
The band is under the direction of Steve Straka and Assistant Band Director Adam Tucker.

Our Guard Instructor is Tink Fazekas and our Percussion Instructor is Tim Wilson. Support Staff includes Sam Esquirell, Derek Kostovick, and Katie Rudnik. Drill design is by Bret Mascaro. Guard and musical arrangements are by the incomparable Banderman Productions. Our feature dancers are Payton Ross and Noah Allen. The band is under the field direction of drum majors Matthew Gargano, Sara Mack, and Priya Pradhan. The Big Red Marching Band would like to thank SAHS principal Dr. Sam Varano, SASD Superintendent Mr. Frank Gallagher, and all the supporters from the Souderton community.
